The clinic treats clients from across the human lifespan, from toddlers developing speech and language to adults who have lost speech or language due to disease or trauma. Dr. Martine Vanryckeghem, Ph.D., CCC-SLP, teaches the fluency disorders course at UCF, conducts research in the field of fluency disorders and educates graduate student clinicians in the School's of Communication Sciences & Disorders clinic.

Alcoitão School of Health Sciences (ESSA), belongs to Santa Casa da Misericórdia de Lisboa (SCML) and is a Private Higher Education Establishment, the pioneer in Portugal in the training of Physical Therapists, Occupational Therapists and Speech and Language Therapists.
